Animals

This morning I was driving to work and on the freeway I saw one of the trucks that transports large amounts of animals to slaughter. I saw a nose sticking out of a hole ( I should not have looked and saved myself the pain). Mind you, it was a very cute little nose and so I looked a little closer to determine what kind of animal it was. It was a truck of baby cows. It was so sad and I think the second I figured out what kind of animal it was tears started streaming out of my eyes.

I thought of my moms horses and how we had a mother and a daughter pair. Anytime they were separated they would be so upset and scream the entire time the other one was gone. Imagine the way those little babies felt, away from their mother and in this tiny pen in a giant moving truck, to a destiny that is not desirable. Poor little babies.

On a happier note, there was a little bunny that was hanging outside my office today. I was a little wild one with huge adorable ears and a little white cotton tail.
