Love, appreciation and politics

Whenever I read/watch political speeches I always get super emotional. Whenever there are so many people that are working for a change or a cause of some sort, it moves me. I guess it is just the act of people fighting for something important! So, today I was reading the speech that Michelle Obama made last night at the Democratic National Convention and it made me cry/tear up. I can really appreciate it when people support one another and when people talk lovingly about one another. I feel like there are so many things in this world to be annoyed and upset at, and that sometimes our feeling are stronger over the annoyances than they are over the great things about people. So here is the part of the speech that I really enjoyed.

"And in the end, And in the end after all that's happened these past 19 months, the Barack Obama I know today is the same man I fell in love with 19 years ago. He's the same man who drove me and our new baby daughter home from the hospital ten years ago this summer, inching along at a snail's pace, peering anxiously at us in the rear view mirror, feeling the whole weight of her future in his hands, determined to give her everything he'd struggled so hard for himself, determined to give her something he never had: the affirming embrace of a father's love."
